Spinal Cord Stimulation

LEVEL 1 PAIN MANAGEMENT IS A LEADER IN THE FIELD OF SPINAL CORD STIMULATION

womansback

A Spinal Cord Stimulator (SCS) is a ‘neuromodulation’ device implanted into the spine during a minimally invasive procedure. The SCS is a small battery operated computer that provides pinpoint delivery of small doses of electricity directly to nerve sites.

How does it work? Simply put, the electrical impulses delivered by Spinal Cord Stimulation interfere with the way the Central Nervous System processes pain signals.

A Spinal Cord Stimulator sends pain inhibiting signals down the spine. And, at the same time, it sends ‘feel-good’ signals back up to the brain, creating a pleasant sensation.

A reduction in pain of at least 50% is considered successful and may give you just the pain management you need to regain your quality of life, although many chronic pain sufferers report an 80-100% reduction in pain immediately following the implantation procedure.

John J.Sassano, M.D. is a well-respected Interventional Pain Physician, performing SCS trials on a one-week basis in his state-of-the-art clinic in beautiful North Florida. After a successful ‘trial’ of the stimulator, you and Dr. Sassano will together determine whether permanent implantation is the answer to your chronic pain. Dr. Sassano will guide you through the latest SCS options, so you can make an informed choice.

LEVEL 1 PAIN MANAGEMENT is dedicated to the treatment of Chronic Pain.
